Well this sucks ! Wife wanted to go to the store . No go . No forward , no reverse , no codes .
I am thinking front pump or torque converter . Wishful thinking.....
Loaded her on the trailer and taking to the shop and doing more testing .
She drove it home ,no issues . Next morning ..... Nothing !
Any advice ? I am not a transmission guy .

Pump or valve body issue, usually. Hope someone else can step in, I know a little, but not enough about them.

MLPS wires at the shifter on the side of the transmission.. sometimes they corrode there

If it starts, the switch is adjusted right, but the wires could be unhooked.
Could also be a main fuse in the power center.

I had a good reading from the prendle in all positions , and proper gear command . No solenoid codes . I am thinking a hard failure , not electrical .

Usually OD goes out first in them, probably a pump then.

Amazing how much money they want for a used transmison . $950 is the least expensive I have found , and it has 166 k on it !
Wish there was a rebuilder in my area we could trust .

I had to take a double take on which plug you pulled in the first picture!
Have you tried ebay, etc on a used transmission, some have free shipping.

I also would check Ford for the cost of a reman. They might surprise you on the price, might get brand new with a warranty for only a bit more.

Thinking about a Jasper reman ... Good warranty , and we sell them at my shop .
I am cheep by nature though .. Last transmission I bought cost $150 .
Been a while . I do not normally get into the pricing at work .
I just do the work and , at times , talk to the customers .

    $150
That's about the same time a gallon of gas was $1.00. LMAO
    Last transmission I installed,I paid $ 1,800 for the 4R70W in my 94 F 150 4x4 from Ford
    Worth every penny.
I installed it, so that money didn't figure into the cost.

Lucky that we can do the work, Labor would cost as much as the transmission

The 2004 uses a 5R55, correct? Dang they want a lot for a high mileage 5R55! You can get a 4R70E/W and 4R75E rebuilt for less (that is assuming the torque converter didn't replacing too).

Is it a difficult transmission to remove? That's the only reason I can think of it would cost so much, because a rebuild kit for them run only about $150-$300 depending on what you get.

Easy to pull . We have had a few rebuilt with poor luck . Some will not even build them . We gave up trying in our area .
    Used units are scarce .

Sorry to hear that. I just read a couple of rebuild company's info about them, seems they have their own headaches, sometimes much more work involved. :(
