09 F150 info display unit problem

    New to this site, was just wondering if any one has had or is having the same problem with the info display above the radio. My display will come on when I first start the truck, stay on for a few seconds then go dark. All the controls still work but you can not see anything in the display. Driving me crazy, any ideas. Thanks

    Try turning the auto headlights feature to off. If it's on, then use the panel dimmer brightness control to brighten it. Turning it all the way to the off position is supposed to work if you don't have the auto headlights feature.

    If you get a message that the auto dimmer control needs to be reset, disconnect the truck battery for about 15 minutes, this will reset the message.

    There's also the possibility the light sensor is faulty, you can verify that by going where it's bright and covering the sensor to see if any brightness changes on dash backlighting - or try shining a flashlight at it to see what it does. It can especially be a problem with dark tinted windows.
