I test drove an '11 last Saturday that had air bags. In the bed was a set of rails for a 5th wheel hitch.

Obviously the truck was set up for pulling.

Road test was brief, under 5 minutes of smooth pavement with a minute of highway, no load.

Anyway, I'm thinking of putting a set in my '09.

Anyone have bags on their F150's? Good/bad? Any extra steps to be taken when hooking up an equalizer hitch?

I put Air-Lift lighter weight ones on my crew cab 6-1/2' bed after connecting up to my 20' enclosed car trailer. I keep 20# in them when not towing and 80# when towing and would not be without them. I fill them separately back at the license plate....

How hard was it to convert to air bags?

I didn't convert to air bags. I added an Air-Lift kit it mounted to a supplied bracket to the frame and on the rear axle tube. Even with my equalize hitch it needed more. Installation took about an hour....
