    Upgrading a 1950 F1 to a 302. Need a recommendation for a cruising rear end.

    Disclaimer

I'm slightly smarter than a can of screws and probably in over my head.

    I have mechanically inclined friends.

Are you asking about ratio, or what size (9", etc)?

I guess both. The truck initially will be a teenage daily driving truck. Unfortunately I get different answers from my friends so I decided to go outside for advice. I don't want the engine racing I don't want my son racing or tires spinning. I want good gas mileage nice cruising rear end.

for the street i would go with 3.55's, after 373 rpms on the highway tend to need OD tranies.
??? why if it still has the 8ba flathead would you want to loose it? if still there build it up and have fun at shows.
