I want a 53-56 Effie really bad... but a modular 5.4L rebuild is expensive and standing in the way! Its a nice truck you have there.

I've got the 5.4L in my 2004 Expedition. 140k miles and running smooth. Was lucky with the spark plug replacement. None had the infamous "break" issue.

I'm surprised someone hasn't sunk their teeth into it yet.

Same here, but encountered some good conversations over the past 3 weeks. Two are re-sellers and they impressed me with their knowledge about this vehicle. Both made offers but are low because they need to flip it for a profit. Both acknowledged my price is where they would offer it at retail. So I have some flexibility on the asking price to better fit private party, non-retail sale. Anyone interested in the $12.5k range, we can work it out.

Don't you just like these guys that expect you to take the lose so they can make a profit.

Looks like that you and I are on the same page. I can appreciate these independent guys are running a biz, have to feed the family and make a living. As I'm now over 50, gone are the days of buying my cars from dealerships. Last 4 vehicles I purchased were from private owners. High quality, high end cars at very low cost compared to new and dealer lots. Amount of money saved in buying and owning those 4 cars contributed nicely to retirement savings....and I still get to drive upper end cars with performance from V8 power.
