1966 F 100 Engine Swap

    Hello everyone, newby here. I recently got my 66 F 100 with 6 cyl and manual three speed transmission and need to know what V8 engines ( preferably 289 or 302) will bolt to the stock transmission and fit with out a lot of modifications? I have done several engine swaps on other vehicles but this is my first Ford. I would like to hear from anyone who has swapped out a 6 cyl for a V8 in these trucks.     Somehow I missed the thread.
    The 240 six, and the 300 six will bolt up to the 289, 302, and 351 blocks.
    That being said, you need the flywheel that goes with the block you use.
    the smaller sixes won't work, at that point you will need a bell housing to bolt to your stock transmission.
    Not sure there's a lot of those still around

    i thought the 66 F100 came with 302, but according to internet it was only 240 and 300 six, 289 for Mexican market only, and 352 FE.
    if you use a 289, make sure you get a 6 bolt bell housing block, if you find a 5 bolt block you will then have to also find a 5 bolt bell housing, and they are getting very hard to find these days.

    Take read counts with a grain of salt. Those numbers include page fetches from crawlers, search engines, etc.

    No 302's in F100's until 1969. OP will also need the engine supports, they are the same as:

    1969/79 F100 302 / 1975/79 F150 302 / 1977/79 F100/350 351M/400 2WD

    6 bolt bell housing: 1965 Mustang from production date 8/23/1964, 1965 Galaxie/LTD/Fairlane/Falcon/Comet, ditto 1966/68 all.
