I noticed my fuel gauge quit working .soni did the good ole direct short between the positive and negative wire on the sending unit and the needle start working so I assumed the sending unit was bad.pulled it out and yes the float was a goner. drained tank got float debris out Purchased aftermarket universal sending unit. Installed unit but still the gauge isn't working...tried the direct short method again annd needle moves.....

While performing the direct short to engage or activate needle ,should needle move all the way to the F(full) .. currently it only goes to the half way mark.

I'm wondering if i haave a fuel guage issue aswell
