Having a hard time finding a replacement rubber o-ring and shim/gasket For my rear axle. Not an expert, but the shim/gasket has 5 holes for the star bolt pattern, it’s thin metal and is situated on the outside of the carrier housing between the retainer. The o-ring goes around the pinion retainer in a special groove. Can’t find either one anywhere. Please advise. The o-ring keeps the gear oil from leaking out the front where the shim/gasket is.

Welcome to FTZ! If You are dealing with the gear oil leak Only, NOT rebuilding or replacing the Ring and Pinion gears, Don't mess with the shim pak. They are for settting depth of the Pinion into the Ring gear. Are You sure your leak isn't the Pinion Seal, which is behind the companion flange you driveshaft U-Joint bolts to??

That seal is easily changed by You. Getting the companion flange off, might possibly need a puller. The seal seats/wears, against the companion Flange. You will most likely find a groove worn in the flange. In that case you should get a SPEEDI-SLEEVE to put over the worn groove.

Let Us know how you make out, we're always interested in " The Rest Of The Story", Cap
