So as you can see I have my throttle linkage connected with a zip tie. (I was out of duct tape). I can’t find a good diagram and maybe a part list for the linkage. I have no clue what it even should look like. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

The rod, link going down the transmission is for throttle pressure to the auto transmission for 2 reasons. 1, Needed to keep the transmission in the gear, it's in, on hard (pedal to the metal) acceleration. 2, When cruising and you need quick acceleration, stepping down on the gas hard that rod puts pressure in the transmission to force it to downshift and hit what would be referred to as "passing gear".

Seeing as you have an Aftermarket Carb, it might not have the correct link on the carbs throttle shaft linkage plate. Your pictures does no give a clear view of the shaft linkage plate. The rod and the gas pedal linkage block the view to see if a place to put the rod on.

This Carb may be for a Standard shift truck and not have a correct hook up. You could online research your Edelbrock carb to see if 2 versions available OR a piece that bolts on to it for Auto transmission applications. Cap

That makes a lot of sense. The transmission would drop hard driving now. I called edelbrock and attachment 1483 fits and modifies the linkage to work. Should hopefully be here by Friday!

Looking at my pitman arm and steering box connection I think I figured out why there’s so much slop. I think the lift the former owner put on it is just too large and is making it impossible to connect the two. So I probably have to drop it down to fix the connection.
