1980 F-350 Fuel/Gauge Problem

Gosh, so many Ford Forums around; how does one choose?
    Anyway.
I have a 1980 F-350 Ford SuperCab pickup with dual 19G tanks. It has been used very little over the years; a couple of long road trips but mostly short local hauls. Its mileage is around 48-49K.
I have a problem that a shop manual might address but, unfortunately, I wasn’t as perceptive then as I might have been now to buy one.
If anyone has (or knows of) a shop manual they would part with, I’d be happy to pay for one (with shipping, of course) to help me solve this problem. Even a copy of the electrical section may suffice.
The problem is that the switch that selects between the two gas tanks (or the wiring involved) appears to have failed. In the ‘rear’ position, the gas flows but the console gauge does not indicate; in the ‘front’ position the gauge does indicate but the gas does not flow.
Currently, I manage by leaving the switch in the ‘rear’ position and keeping track of mileage traveled and adding gas as I estimate to be about half way through the tank.
If I had a copy of the wiring diagram (at least for the gas tank sensing and switch section) I could track down where the 12V problem lies with a voltmeter.
It would be easy to just say the switch is defective and dive in there but it’s a maze to remove the dash components (both the main and radio sections) and would be better attempted with the wiring diagram in hand.
So, any help or thoughts? Any help much appreciated.

P.S. I’m going to post this on a couple of forums, just to spread the net for all thoughts.

I received a copy of the electrical circuit around the switch and it showed the switch as having '6' terminals; 3 posts for each circuit. One circuit for each pump in each tank -and- one 'sender' in each tank. This switch is a 'DPDT' (double pole, double throw). Your example of the 'D5TZ-0A050-A' Fuel Tank Selector Switch states '5' terminals. Is this a misprint? I don't see how it could work with only 5 terminals.
It will be a while before I dive into the console (some life occurrences have come up). If you could clear up the issue with the switch terminals, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

You have a 1980 F350 .. The 5 terminal switch (D5TZ-9A050-A) is all the parts catalog lists.

    But if you have a 1986 F150/350: E6TZ-9A050-C .. Fuel Tank Selector Switch - 6 terminals / Marked: E6TB-9A050-AB / Obsolete

Have you looked at your switch yet? It's located in the heater control panel if your truck has a factory installed auxiliary tank.
