Hello Truck Fordaphiles,
I just received my now passed brothers 1981 Ford F150 Stepside and I would like to bring
the pickup back to life.
It would make a fine daily driver with updated mods.
The first step, swap in the 5.0 (last year of the roller 302) from a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT, after some research, I do believe that it will bolt right in (with n modifications) replacing the 302. Not sure about the transmission, to replace the C6.
I'm going to attempt to also include the climate control system, not sure about what to do with the dash, most likely need to find a dash that offers Air Conditioning, the current on does not.
Is there anyone that has attempted and succeeded doing a project like this?
Any suggestions would be very welcomed.
