New member here. Replacing the rear brakes and am having trouble identifying which ones to order. The shoes and drums are for 12x2.5" but the hardware and wheel cylinders are for 12x3" heavy duty brakes. The truck is a single cab base model w/8ft bed and a GVWR of 7300lbs. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

There was an F250 and an F250HD then. The 8300+ GVWR F250HD used 3" hardware, drums and shoes. The F250 used 2.5" hardware, drums and shoes. If the 4th digit of the VIN is "H" then it's an HD and uses 3", otherwise it used 2.5".

That's what I was going with it not being heavy duty as the 4th digit is a "F". What's throwing me off is the wheel cylinders have a 1" bore which the parts store shows are for the 3" brakes and the 15/16" bore is for the 2.5" ones.

After seeing both a new 3" and 2.5" wheel cylinder I found that both are physically smaller than the original 2.5" wheel cylinders.
