Thanks for the add, I have a 1984 makeshift dully F-250 4x4 with an upgraded 5 speed transmission, and an upgraded 7.3L IDI. Keep 6.9L intake on for cheaper gas miliage and Glo-Plug replacements. Motor only got 40,000 on it so I hope to be around this forum for a long time! Hoping there are some good wrench turners on here, for when I need some dummy questions answered, especially this being my first diesel! Happy In-Direct Injectin!

7.3 and 6.9 used the same intake design, so you will not see better fuel mileage using the 6.9 intake. and consider switching to the 7.3 glow plug controller when the 6.9 setup gives you problems. the newer solid state design glow plug controller used on the 7.3 after 87 was light years ahead of the old 6.9 controller. the new one would fail on the off position. the old style would fail in the on position and burn out the glow plugs.

 

I also use circuit breakers instead of fuses inline on the 7.3 glow plug set up
the circuit breakers are used on A/C in the 90 up truck fuse panels

 

I also routed it away from the key and have a button instead of that Awful backwards key design.
