Hey guys trying to get my old 1986 ford F150 running.When I first got it the fuel tank had been removed and put in bed(guess fuel pump went bad) been sitting since 2014. I bought it and got it home hooked fuel lines to an auxiliary tank.....checked fuel pressure at fuel rail shrader fitting....42 psi. turned it over and started in start position and as soon as it returned to run....went dead. I went ahead and replaced ignition switch, ignition control module on distributor.solenoid (because it was sticking) new starter .....cleaned the terminals to the ecm and still its doing the same thing. I was going to order a new computer thinking that there may be a separate circuit that controls the injector pulse in the run position....also pulled a plug wire off and put a plug in it and layed against ground....put ignition in run position and turned over by jumping the solenoid to starter posts and there is a good spark? so its getting a spark in the run position so gonna test the injector pulse when I get somebody to turn it over....think I'm loosing pulse in run position.If anyone has any ides ....really appreciate and seasoned ford guys input....thanks

 

Check your fuel lines and hoses, there may be something blocking partway. Just enough to idle, but not enough fuel to run. Hope this helps.
