Hi I just bought a 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat. The forward fuel tank has gas in it and when I switch my truck to the forward tank it cuts out after a minute. Does anybody know if this is the fuel pump or is there a different problem I'm overlooking.

 

Pretty good guess it's a bad fuel pump
put the front tank switch on, have someone listen at the fuel fill with the cap off.
turn the key on, you should hear the pump cycle then shut off.
Just to see what it sounds like, put the switch on the rear tank, and repeat.
you will hear the pump cycle.

 

Ok thats a good idea. I'll do that to see if there's a difference. Thank you
