Bearing making noise in the alternator in my 95 with a 5.8 so I was thinking about picking up one at the local pull and pay and wondering what years can I use one from.

 

My experience with any alternator that sits idle for any length of time is garbage but maybe I'm just unlucky that way..

 

I concur. That vintage, go with a reman or have yours rebuilt.

 

Trying to get by as cheap as I can,138 for a reman or 25 for a used and have been good at finding almost new parts at the pull and pay lately. I actually think its the tensioner pulley but want to keep a extra alternator in stock since I have two that take that type and will look for one that has been recently replaced.
