My friends F-250 has an issue with the passenger side tailgate hinge. It's functional but requires jockeying it a bit to close it once opened. It might be a bushing or something else. Does anyone have advice on how to repair the hinge?

 

From the way you describe the trouble, it sounds like the hinge piece near the bottom of the tailgate is about to fall apart. Replacement parts for them are still around. Try bronco graveyard in your search engine.
