Installation Instructions
1. Start by placing a suitable pan/container under the fuel drain (the drain exits under the passenger side of the engine) and open the valve to drain the water and fuel. While the fuel drains, disconnect both negative battery terminals, as you will be working with fuel near several live electrical connections. You also may want to have a flashlight and a “magnet on a stick” retrieval tool in case you drop screws/tools in the engine valley.
2. Remove the plastic engine/fuel filter cover (the one with “Powerstroke “ written on it) with a 13mm deepwell socket.
3. Remove the rubber portion of the hose attached to the drain assembly (a big screwdriver will work). Using a Torx #20, remove 4 bolts holding the valve to the fuel filter assembly. A T-20 bit in a 1/4" ratchet works better than a screwdriver type Torx driver. Place on a clean bench, clean drain valve, remove and discard old O-rings, and install new rings supplied.
4. Install valve using 4 screws. Take the screws down to 22 inch pounds torque, do not over tighten. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly procedure. Make sure the drain valve is closed before you try to start the engine, or you will have a mess.
