I've got a 2008 F150 crewcab with the 4.6L. It's paid off, just passed 90K miles. Just curious what others' experiences have been as far as age/mileage/problems? Can't decide if I want to change the plugs, flush the coolant, etc. or go look at a 2015. The only problems I've had was a rebuilt transmission under warranty at 30k, no problems since.

I've got a 2007 4.6 with a 198k on it. Only repairs other than maintenance was an intake manifold replacement for a coolant leak, and an a/c compressor. Do your maintenance, and keep driving.

that's definitely the directly I'm leaning. plan on putting the original payment in the bank for a down payment/repair fund in case something major does brake.

4.6L is a solid engine. You're going to find, at least I have, that the 2009+ F150 really isn't all that different of a truck, it's built on fundamentally the same platform. Unless you gotta have the newest, stick with your truck. :)

...but there's this really nice '15 King Ranch sitting at my dealer! :)anim
Daughter is about ready to drive. Thinking about passing down the wife's '09 Escape to her...but my wife doesn't like the current Escape body style to replace it. Might try out an Edge. I really like the new Explorer, but we don't need that big of a vehicle.
