i purchased this truck with 104,000miles
i engaged 4whell drive switch-dial and seemed to work a couple times.
when i triewds to engage when i really needed it, gives me a message on instrument cluster of a big wrench symbol and says check 4wheel drive. i have manbually engaged front hubs into lock mode and front axles ARE engaged but still no 4wheel drive.
ive been advised to take to dsealwer but would like to fix myslf, limited income
please help

 

only issue i have ever had was the electric shift motor on the transfer case failed, it's not a hard job, cost wise depending on the store they can be found for around $100.00 . there is several youtube video's to be found that show what's involved to do it

i am mechiniacly inclined,
but what year do u have? i was told by a shop that mosat electric issues cant be fixed by small shops, need high dollar eqip. to dianosed

When my truck went under repair for the engine fire, when I picked it up, I received the same alarm. (2017 F250 w/6.7) and it was the switch on the side of the transfer case. Three bolts and a wire connector. Shop replaced it, but I know is was rather pricey, but very easy to do.
