I need to tow a heavy trailer (2800 lbs. hitch weight). I have a 3.55 ratio rear end. The rest of the weights are within my capacity, per the guide. What should I look out for?

What are you towing it with. How far over hitch weight are you? How far are you towing, need more info please.

Too much hitch weight over capacity and you can end up with a rear end that's harder to control around corners because the trailer tries to push the hitch outward.

Sorry, I should of looked at the topic before I answered. That is a very heavy tongue weight! The truck is very capable of towing it but I would never attempt that tongue weight! I haul my 5th wheel on a 2020 250 with the 7.3 Godzilla with hitch weight loaded around 2500 which is no problem whatsoever but to move every ounce of that to a rear hitch……no way!! You’re asking for trouble! IMHO
