Hello all, I have stumbled across a 1962 F-250 that is in decent shape. It runs minimal rust underneath and will need all four new tires. The older gentleman is asking $2,000. I know the truck has sat for a while.

I want to drive this truck daily to and from work totaling 15 miles a day.

is/can this truck but a reliable vehicle to drive daily? Is it expensive to maintain this old truck? Are the replacements parts expensive? Are the replacement parts reasonably to find? What are things to look out for that commonly go bad? Or look at before buying to see if it’s damaged or going bad and not to buy it?

    thank you all.

Too many unknowns to tell you if it will be reliable enough. Do a compression test on the engine and if it passes that then you've gotten by the biggest hurdle.

I'd add, cost to maintain depends on You. Parts can be purchased, new, used, but who is going to do he work. Yes it CAN be a dependable, reliable truck for your needs. As of right now, does the engine start and run?? Can you take it for an extended ride around the block?? Cap.
