I have heard a rumor that new inner fenders and hoods are not commercially available for these trucks. Can anyone confirm this here? And does anyone know of a source of decent used ones? Or can ones from another year model be modified and used?

LMC truck has the inner and outer fenders along with other body panels, but not the hood.
I will do some more looking

 

I was not able to find a hood yet, I would call LMC and Melvins classic ford parts and ask them. I talked with Melvins about a hood for my 67 and they had it, but it’s not in their catalog. I’ll let you know if I find anything

 

LMC Truck does not seem to have the inner fender for the 66 f100 2wd. I called to confirm. They also cannot tell me if other year models inner fenders could be modified to fit. They can’t really give me any technical info.

 

Well don’t know what to say, their wb site shows both sides inner and outer fenders. And doesn’t show out of stock like a lot of items.
I did not have any luck finding a hood, you may try Ford Era in Miami for a used one

That seems to show that these are for ‘64, ‘65. And the last one is ‘66 but for the 4wd. Is there a chance that any of those would fit my ‘66 2wd? From pictures I’ve seen they look to be different.

Twin I beam trucks have a different frame, so the inner fenders will likely be 65-66 1/2 & 3/4 ton only. Without seeing both, side by side, I can't say how different.
I have been having trouble trying to find a hood, they are very weak compared to 67, and the brace at the back tends to get bent or broken when the hinges are not kept greased up. If you find a prospect, spray the hinges before you close the hood, it will open okay with the help of the springs, but shutting it is when they bend. Also, look for cracks in the skin, middle of hood, about a foot from the front. Vibrations cause fatigue cracks.

A friend of mine got a full front end from desert valley, be prepared to pay!
