so i bought a 71 F250 and needless to say its close to being a lemon but we're getting there anyway i have no brake lights i replaced the switch and nothing when i turn the hazards on the front flashes but nothing in the back and with them on if i depress the the brake pedal the hazards go solid I've tried tracing the wires but i cant find anything anyone have any advice ?
also my running lights work in the back but no brake lights

The brake wiring and signal wires all come together in the turn signal switch. No switch or wiring, there's your problem.

Don's a little blunt.
But he lives and breaths dentsides, so he is correct

The wiring is in the signal switch in the steering column. when it wears out the wires end up rubbing together, and either they short, and go completely out, or the wires break, and they no longer give a signal

You will have to pull the steering wheel to replace the switch.
