have a 93 F150--5.0 engine--electronic 4 speed auto transmission--145,000 miles--truck will shift fine most of the time--however some days the transmission will slip--sometimes on takeoff--sometimes shifting up between 1st and second--sometimes shifting up between 2nd and 3rd--was recently in left hand lane of 5 lane hwy--slowed from 70 to 40 for slowed traffic--went to accelerate and no transmission--manually shifted down to second and luckily it caught--sped back up to 70 and no other issues for the remaining 60 miles home.
Have had the transmission serviced 5 times in the last five years by everyone from transmission shops to highly regarded mechanics--new fluid-filter-etc. Always the same outcome--great for a short while, then sporadic slipping--no mechanic has ever driven it and had it slip (most have kept it for multiple days and used it to run parts to try and get it to slip--no luck)
Sorry for the long post, but my question is this--before sinking a couple grand into a rebuilt transmission, could this problem somehow be related to the "electronic" portion of the transmission? No error codes have ever been found by any repair shops.

 

This place is dead, I would recommend searching for another site where activity is higher and you're more likely to get some assistance.

pump or a filter issue.

Pull transmssion

Not likely solenoid pack - it either works or not
