    Vilified by fellow soldiers, the chain of command, members of Congress and many Americans, he stood tall and didn't waver from his moral compass, doing the right thing when others weren't. History has proven to be on his side, and apparently in modern time's he's held in high regard by those in Army aviation:

    Wow. In the moment of doing the right thing, I don't believe you consider repercussions. You don't think about being courageous or brave. You just do it. Hugh remained with the Army. You have to think there were discriminations against him during the early years following the incident...noted by the attempt to court martial him.

    Thanks Ken. I never knew of this man and his crew.

    The past few events to remember or honor folks, like on 9/11, I've been trying to find those who are a bit lesser-known. I didn't know about him either until a few days ago.
