Been getting emails and postcards for months about an American Legion Department of Texas Member Directory. Anyone else seen something like this? I've been a member of the Legion for more than a few years now and don't recall ever seeing any sort of directory before. So far I've ignored all the requests for info figuring it's just another we want your info for sales gimmick deals. On a wild hair, I googled the name that signed the postcard for the "deadline extension" and it is in fact the State Commander for Texas. Still not convinced it's not a gimmick though. Anyone else have experience with this? After all, they have my membership info, and obviously my name and address since I'm getting mail. If anyone else is a member, have you ever seen some sort of directory?
Videos I saw last night named Texas as a Homeland Security "HOTSPOT" so beware of unsolicited requests for information. GOD BLESS TEXAS A.L. would NOT be connected to a department of anywhere - so go figure... IT'S PHISHING Can you back-trace it? What is the return address? I have a general rule about any mail: NO return address, trash it at once
