1st regear, F350 Backlash spec is 11-16, I measured backlash on every tooth, they all read 11 to 13 except for a row of 4 teeth were 10 ( pics) opinions?...I've also have pictures of my gear pattern, opinions? #ad #ad #ad #ad #ad
Use your dial indicator on the gear, turn it to see if it's out of round (or slightly off center). If that's the issue and not the gear itself, then you need to look at bearings and how you torqued things down. I don't have much more than that, it's been since the late 1990s since I fooled with gears, so I'm a bit rusty.
