I finely have my 53 put together after 6 yrs. I have driven it around the block 4 or 5 times & it sounded great. But I started it today in the garage & revved the the engine & it had a bad knocking sound. Where would a guy start to find out what the problem is.

You need to explain a Lot More about the engine in your truck. What it is, what you have done to it, knock when you started it or after you revved it ???? Not good idea to Hi Rev an engine with no load on it, especially when it's cold.

I found the cause of engine knock. Something got into # 5 cylinder. It must have been a small nut. I took the head off & the piston & head have small dents in them. What ever it was is gone. thanks for answering my post.

Did you get any scoring of the cylinder wall? If you haven't already, do a compression test to see if that cylinder is down on pressure now.
