    Hello,

I have a 1965 F100 SWB that is essentially stock. A friend recently offered to sell me a solid 1968 F100 SWB frame that already has a Crown Victoria front suspension and an Explorer 8.8" rear suspension that he installed. I trust his work and have been thinking of doing these modifications to my own truck. Is dropping my '65 body onto this '68 frame a simple bolt-in/on swap or does the "step-in" cab of the '65 require some modifications for this swap to work?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Welcome to FTZ. You mention "Step in Cab"?? Are both trucks 2X4, 4X4 or 1 each??

My mistake, you mentioned CV front suspension, so I guess 2X4, sorry.

Thinking 65 and 68 2X4 would have same floor pan with no interior door step. A 3 speed on the column cab would have a different floor than a 4 speed on the floor cab. 3 speed being flat, 4 speed having a hump in the middle for transmission clearance.

I edited my post as you replied. So 3 speed cab, 4 speed cab, 1 each??

    My 1965 is a 3-speed, don't know about the 1968 frame.

I can't give you definite, even knowing what the 68 is. It just appears if you stay with the 3 speed transmission the cab would swap, both being Twin Eye Beam suspension chassis'.

    I have 2 1966 F250's 2x4's. One a three 3 speed, has flat floor, the other a 4 speed, has hump floor.

the 4 spd transmission is way bigger than a 3 spd making for needing the correct floor .
