Hi all. I use this for my plow truck for my driveway so it doesn't get used much. I went to use it to scrape some gravel, started fine, ran for 30 sec and began to surge, fuel pump relay cycling, solenoids going. nuts. Shut off, start again, ran 30 sec and all went nuts. Swapped relays, checked grounds and power. All seems ok. Believe the PCM is bad but need a pin out chart of the PCM connector. (I was a Ford tech for 45 years. Called old dealership and EVTM long gone). So does anyone have the diag of the PCM and EEC/Fuel pump relay wiring?

another long time mechanic here, sadly not ford VW/AUDI for 50 years , been retired for 10 TG , my guess is the pump being nearly 30 years old is shot causing a short that's making your relays go haywire . diagram wise these are for a 5.8 and 5.0

try pulling the fuel pump fuse see if no power going to it stops the relay clicking??????

 

Cool, thanks. Would you happen to have the image of the relay box wiring that has PCM and fuel pump relays?
It's been a couple of months since I fooled with it and now of course when it is near 100 deg, I have started fooling with it again. I don't remember the sequence I was doing to diag but I pulled all relays here and there, checked fuses and grounds but now it is just dead, PCM isn't commanding anything.

do yourself a favor start with cleaning every ground point you can find. before throwing money into it,, make sure you don't have a bad fuel pump,
