one of the dealers shown was Matawan Ford in Matawan NJ.
in the late 60's they moved out of town to the main highway in Keyport NJ about 3 miles away, and renamed Toms Ford. they are still there today. the old building was changed to Town and Country Chrysler Plymouth. run by the same family, the Straubs. Town and Country was run in town until the mid 80's when they also moved to Keyport on the main highway about 1/4 mile south of the ford dealer. the Straubs also opened a Lincoln Mercury dealership next to Toms Ford, and a few years later Straub buick GMC next to the
Lincoln Mercury dealership.
my first "town job" off the farm was a prep man in the body shop of Town and Country Chrysler Plymouth.
the Matawan ford/ Town and Country Chrysler building is now a Quick check market, and the service bays and body shop that were under the building are rental garages.
