Hello! It's my first post!
I recenlty bought a 66 F100 2wd. I am having to install a knew PS gear box. Someone put a 351 modified engine in it. When removing the old PS gear box(not original) it was extremely snug. The replacement gear that I picked up is identical, but slightly wider on the top of the box(I was told I cant get the thinner one anymore). Long story short it won't fit. It gets caught between the fender and the exhaust manifold. My dad has a 76 f-100 that looks like it will match. All of the measurements I took while its on the 76 make me think it will work on my 66. The 76 is slightly thinner so i'm sure it will atleast fit in the hole.
Does anyone know for sure if this will work?

 

So it will work, but it will bring the steering out much further unless I swap out the column too. Gotcha! Thanks so much! Now to order the box!

 

Bendix P/S: 1966/68 F100/250 2WD; 1969 F100/250 2WD before serial number D96,001.

All the parts for the Bendix box are obsolete including the seal kits.

Ford/Saginaw P/S: 1969 F100/250 2WD & F350 from serial number D96,001; 1970/79 F100/250 2WD & F350.

The steering columns are a different length with both Bendix and Ford/Saginaw gearboxes. Ford changed the steering wheel in 1971.
