Hey first time here. Looking for advice. I have a 1993 Ford flareside 4x4. Needs a 302 engine, cab corner repairs and minor mechanical/other autobody repairs. Not sure if transmission or diffs are good. I’m told all was well. I’m also looking at buying a 1993 F-150 2x4 long box. It’s has a 351W and is a lot cleaner truck overall. Body and mechanically. Passed a safety 8 months ago. I’m thinking of using the flareside as a donor truck and converting the 2x4 into a 4x4. Looking on line, it looks like it’s a bolt on bolt off situation. Sounds like the transmissions are the same no matter what engine you have so I’m assuming the transfer case should swap as well. Anybody have this situation or know if this would work. I realized projects cost money and time. I have lots of time and money I’m willing to make and spend so please no comments about if you’d do it or not. Just want to know if it can be done or what to look for. Both trucks are ext cab.
