Welcome to FTZ ! Assuming both trucks 2WD and the 72 is a parts truck you have OR have access to. Use EVERYTHING pertaining to the front brakes from the 72, from the master cylinder to the front spindles, if the caliper mounts are part of the spindles. If the caliper mounts bolt to the spindles you may not have to change the spindles. If you need to change the spindles, check to see if the 65 and 72 250's use the same kingpin set before doing anything. If the 72 has power brakes, then use the brake booster. Thinking it will bolt right up to the 65 firewall. Do check the free play of the brake pedal if you switch to power after installing.

Some may say change the twin-eye beam axles over with spindles intact. I would not do so, as to not mess with factory set steering geometry of the 65.

Let us know how you make out. We like pictures. Cap

I am finding mixed answers. Some say don't swap the I-beams and some say you have to because, the kingpin size is different. Does anyone know for sure? I have a 65 F250

Try this link from FTE. It is well written and Very Detailed. Remember the subject is "Converting 1965-72 Ford Trucks to disc Brakes". I believe the writer was converting a 1967 Truck. Also Kingpin sets come with Nylon or Bronze Bushing's. The Bronze is best, BUT, you need to have them installed and fitted at an Automotive Machine Shop. Cap

I wrote that article, and as far as I know, I'm the first to document the swap. :) Not claiming to be the first to do it though. Not all of it is going to apply to an F250.

If you can get i-beams along with the spindles, and they are neither binding nor sloppy, I recommend not swapping the spindles and replacing king pins. Just swap the entire i-beams, spindles and all because king pin removal can be incredibly hard on some trucks, even with a hydraulic press.
