Consumer Reports dropped the ford from it list of "recommended".

Still, Ford had me sold on the concept but they don't seem want to sell them. I have been trying to buy a 3.5 eco boost. My last in person stop at Kirkland Ford they didn't know if they had one on the lot. Said they would call me back soon. Its been two weeks.

"Every catagory except one". That ONE being reliability.

For me that's the most important factor by FAR!

Am I the only one who feels this way?

While I agree reliability is quite important, I wonder how much of the add-ons that Ford offers hurt them in that category? They offer more than the Tundra, and the Tundra has been out for a few years, whereas the 2017 Ford F150 is completely new this year. I always figured that when a company comes out with a new model, or they change the model that already exists, the 1st year is probably going to have some issues that will get fixed in later years.

So how has the 2017 3.5 with 10 speed worked out? Will they offer it again next year?

I absolutely love mine. The gas mileage stunned me my first trip averages 23.7 at the pump. I was doing 70-80 all interstate. I have a crew cab 4x4 3.55 axle 2017 with new 3.5. The trip was from Nashville to fort Benning Georgia, to Destin Florida then to LAWTON Oklahoma.

STILL the “one” category the Tundra wins is reliability. That is the primary deciding factor in any vehicle I buy. The 2017 I bought last year after I couldn’t find a 3.5 turbo f-150 is running great.

Still sold on the Ford if they can upgrade the reliability.

It depends.... some of the past few years F150 ranked the most reliable, Tundra the least. GMC is at the top now I believe, with the Ford Super Duty 2nd.

Reliability? Most people, trade them when the warranty is up or sooner. Majority dont put more than 100k on before trading. Reliability doesn't really matter.
If you're keeping it for 10 plus yrs and 300k plus. Reliability might mean something.
    My 1.7 cents worth!

To me reliability is the most important factor. I trade em in at or before 80k. I have owned 5 new ford pickups and 6 new Toyota pickups. Never had any trouble with the Toyota’s, had some trouble with ALL the fords.

My first one used a quart of oil between oil changes, that doesn’t work for me... I was sold on the 3.5 turbo, finally got to drive one the week after I bought the latest Toyota. Loved it!
Waiting for it to get a model year under its belt. Hope it’s reliabilty rating improves, I will buy one if it does, for sure.

My first truck was an 84 toyota. Had it for 9yrs. Rusted to bits more stuff broke wore out to fix. May have had something to do with being abused more than used . Offroaded and towing/hauling stuff most guys use a 250 for could have something to do with it. Lkke towing 7000lbs on a regular basis.
    2nd was a 93 Ford F250. Good truck no problems in 10yrs/130000kms.
    3rd truck still have it. 03 F250 v10.
230k. Other than a few rusted out lines and ujoints. 3 sensors. Been a darn good truck. Plan on keeping for awhile yet. Thanks to these salty Ontario winters

Yep, my first Toyota was an 82, drive it off-road, towed a boat, hauled firewood, my buddy bought it and drove it till the sides rusted off, made a flatbed out of it!

Right after that I bought a bigger boat so bought a bigger truck, a Ford. Been back and forth a lot of times. Actually went by the Ford store today.

My best buddy bought a 2016 eco boost and loves it.
