Anyone know why my truck would be doing this, I have couple thoughts but would like 2nd and 3rd opinion. I love my truck and don t want no work done to it that ain t needed.
I have a 97 F250, that i have no problem finding myself doing 80 down the road. it s when i slow down or stop, it hesitates pretty good to pickup speed again. when I pull onto the roadway, it hesitates, to the point i thought my transmission was slipping. But once we get going , it goes. I mean it will climb the mountain 60 mph once we going.
It don t smoke or use no oil. it does have an exhaust leak, not sure if its just the donut or if the manifold itself leaking. it sounds like back in the day when you would put a baseball card in the spokes of your stingray bike.
I m also wondering if the catalytic converter plugged up, and if so, whats the best route to clean that out. i see they have additives claim to clean that but i don t want to add it if it don t work. and I don t want no one doing work that don t need to be done on it. I just love my truck. I been a F series ford lover over 50 years.
Any thoughts? They will be greatly appreciated.

What engine do you have? I barely remember a while back I found a vacuum leak on top between the throttle body and firewall there's a small rubber boot about the size and shape of a 90 degree spark plug boot. it had worn a hole in it. Funny enough I used a spark plug boot to fix it that I found at my local NAPA since they could not find the part. I have a 98 F250 5.4l V8
