A common problem with the fan motor, is that it stops working on all speeds but high
This is a fan resistor problem, and an easy fix
Follow along, as I repair my 06 F-150

First, the glove box has to come all the way open

Next, on the right side, near the top, squeeze the side of the box towards the driver's side until the tab clears the dash

Box will open all the way to the floor

You will see the resistor on the heater box, it is the unit with the 2 screws, and the harness plugged into it

This is the new fan blower resistor

remove the 2 screws holding the resistor in the heater box

Pull resistor out, and squeeze tab on harness to remove wires

Clean dust from area where resistor goes

I put the resistor back in, then fasten it with the screws first, then push the wires back on, so as to make sure to get a good connection

When you put the glove box back, just push the tab in enough to miss the dash, and that is it!
You now have the fan control back, as designed.

on the 87-97 trucks, and the super duty trucks it is even easier, because the resister is in the heater plenum under the hood.

this has been a problem for both Ford and Chevy for years... you'd think they would come up with a better system.. It's not a expensive fix.. hmmm guess it keeps the parts people working and the service guys.

Everything I think is designed to keep the service and parts departments busy
