fuel tamnk switching problems

    my 1992 long bed ford f250 immediately dies when I switch from front to rear fuel tank....i mean instantly it quits running and makes no effort to run until i switch back to front tank...fuel gauge always reads empty either way.

    If it dies immediately I'd suspect the switch or a clogged line. You can check the switch with a multi-meter. Can you hear each tank's fuel pump running?
