got a 52 f1 truck is in pieces. vin matches title, cab and frame. at some point in its life, it was wrecked in the front and had frame damage. front crossmember was removed to straighten frame and bolted back on. transmission crossmember was removed, I guess to install a late model engine and transmission. rear crossmember was removed to put gas tank between frame rails. should I find a donor frame, removed crossmembers from that frame and repair the original frame, so vin matches the rest of truck or replace the frame.

 

Thinking if you can find a quality donor frame, why mess with it. I would smooth over the old VIN # and with a number/letter punch kit, punch your original VIN # just adjacent to the original frame #. Not sure how many # locations on a 52, newer have at least 2 locations.
