Front parking lights dim with dimmer switch

    Hi, my 95 f250 front parking lights are on when the ignition switch is on along with dash lights. I can rotate dimmer and turn off the parking lights and dash lights.
    The lights work properly otherwise. I put in a new light switch but no change.
    Wouldnt the switch control where the power goes when its plugged in?
    I bought a cheap switch off ebay.
    Im not sure what to check next. Anyone else hear of this? Thanks Rod

    Sounds like a short in the wiring running the parking lights through the same circuit as the dash, or the switch itself is shorted. The tan/white wire on the switch also needs to be checked for 12volts - if not it's either the fuse where the tan wire goes to the fuse box. or the wire itself is burnt.

    Thanks! I tried a new switch but no change. I still have it apart so ill check that tan wire for 12v. I think your saying if its not 12v it has additional draw on it?

    Just a guess, but maybe something is feeding back within the daytime running light module, if equipped? If you have a small box on the bottom of the rad support, left side, unplug it to see.
