My truck is a 1986 long bed 6.9 diesel. due to bed damage I have replaced the bed... the fill system for the old bed was not oem front tank . I am now having problems
getting fuel into the tank. I have tried different configurations with in side hoses. vent hose set in filler neck. No vent hose. and another 3/4 hose inside the outer hose with vent hose connected to the filler neck. This worked on the back tank but not on front tank. I have looked for filler neck with hoses but have not found any. Is my only choice a junk yard? The back filler neck was damaged when the tread came off the tire and ripped it off. So was replaced with something that was not original.

i found the only way to put fuel in my 88 is to drive the driver side rear tire up on a chunk of 6X6. works like a charm, and i can fill with nozzle on fastest setting.
without the 6X6 under the tire it takes forever and a day to fill up. been doing it this way for 30 years and around 450,000 miles.

 

I will try that or thinking of re plumbing the fuel hose so it comes straight up between the bed and cab

not sure this is correct truck is diesel and there is a rubber part to the filler neck and also and inside tube. I will give them a call on monday Thanks
