Took the F-150 out for a spin today, all highway. I did the math and we got 18.9 mpg
I think we did quite well also the rig turned 139k miles today

Pretty good, especially for a 4x4.

if I add in the 10% for speedo error due to larger than stock tires, that equates to 20.8 mpg

I'm lucky to get 16 mpg from mine but I have a lead foot.

Gear ratio, engine, driving habits, etc so many variables it's hard to get a apples to apples comparison.

I have 33" tires, 3:55 gear ratio and automatic. I tend to drive easy.
I have also replaced all o2 sensors, have newer spark plugs and have kept up the maintenance.

Replacing O2 sensors is definitely a big plus. Many people don't because its one of those things they tend to forget until they get a code telling them its bad.

Is that for the 98? Even with a blower, you can do much better! My Roushcharger, on a 2006 which is crewcab plus each cab size is 500lbs more on the 2004-2008 than 1997-2004, I'm getting double that. Those guys who tuned it, sounds like they mainly went for wide open tuning, and didn't spend most of their time on part-throttle tuning. (Not unusual, spending the hours upon hours for it gets very expensive). Do you have an SCT tuner or chip?
