I have a nice 1988 Ford that does more sitting than running. It was running but recently would not start. The fuel selector valve is leaking, any tips/tricks to get it running again? I’ve been looking at new selector valves also and it is confusing. Does anyone know what part number is correct or where to buy a good one? I’d like to get Big Red on the road again! Thanks in advance for your help!

I would probably try Rock Auto for the valve,
As far as getting it running , start with the basics. Is it getting fuel to the carburetor and is it delivering it to the engine. Then are you getting spark at the plugs, a good strong blue spark? It won’t run without either of these

same as above, but have to ask how since the 88 -460 is fuel injected long has it been sitting with today's gas in it?

Old fuel needs to be removed, not just added to.
You may be able to bypass the valve with tubing, just clean and use one tank until you can get it running.
