I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out which Powergen alternator will fit my 272 y block. They list
one that has the terminal for the BAT light (Part #82101-2) and comes it with a 3/8" pulley but I need a 1/2". Then they have one that is listed for the T-Bird (part #82155-2) that looks identical and has a 1/2" pulley but the dimensions are slightly smaller by about a 1/4" but it doesn't show where that 1/4" is missing so I don't know if I'll have belt alignment issues. I've contacted tech help at Powermaster and they gave me a vague answer that didn't help. I could get the 82101-2 and change the pulley or buy the 82155-2, I just need to know which one will drop in with no trouble, has anyone done this and know for sure which one fits?

    Thanks, Erik

Worst case, could you swap the pulley yourself, or just use a slightly larger belt?

Or if you go with 3/18 its only about a 12% difference, and the alternator only going to draw when it needs it. So if it only idled and never saw the road, it's only about 12% longer full charge time.
