Heater Core

    How hard is it to change out the heater core? I'm getting a small puddle on the passenger side and can smell coolant when it gets hot. Is it something I can do after work or better to wait for next weekend?

    Hi Truck runner. No, it's not a quick job for *most* people. It usually takes hours to remove and install a new one. Some people have done it enough times they can knock it out in an hour (see video) but most I'd wait until the weekend.

    I got it done in about two hours maybe a little longer. Its a pain in the ass!

    I always thought it would be cool to NOT have to take half of your ride apart to swap out the heater core

    That's another plus on the OBS trucks. It takes about 30 minutes without breaking a sweat. I wished they would have kept it that way.
