Last summer my hood would begin to ease down when left open for a while. During the winter it wouldn't hold open at all. Now that it is getting warmer again I had hoped it would hold open long enough to get the oil checked. Won't hold open at all. Who has had to replace there supports yet? Who might have used something else to hold the hood open and where do you store it?

You need new hood hinge springs, but none are available NOS

Wish it had springs. I know they go out, but last longer than 8 years.

They look like shock absorbers on the sides.
    The true name is damper.
I have found them on Ebay. usually for the cap windows they last about 3 years.

I've replaced one on my F150, and two on the Camaro. I kept the hood held up with rope in my shop building while replacing them. Propping them up with a stake to do it, I had a close call once many years ago .... and I don't want to risk my arms or head getting lopped off, lol.

The hood on my head is how I figured mine weren't working any more last fall.
