It looks like the rear main is starting to leak on the '78 transmission Am. Small but, puts a few drops on the floor after sitting for awhile. It ain't gonna stop by itsowndamnedself.

Short of a replacement, is there any "fix-it" juice that anyone has experience with that might work?

While I am not much for these types of things I would try something, off the shelf, if it might work. Snakeoil(s) notwithstanding….

You want truth, or a lie?

There is no way to swell the rubber in the rear seal without swelling every piece of rubber in the whole car.
The valve seals WILL NOT last 1,000 miles after you put in the magic cure.
Cant tell you how many valve springs I've pulled off that have a blanket in there instead of a valve seal

    Easy fix on that car.
Pull the transmission. pop out the seal.
grease the rubber in the new seal. set it in there with the tool
    put the transmission back.
    Varoom varoom

    Now, the lie
Pour the motor magic in, and run the car for 8 million miles, and it will grind the valves, replace the rings, put in all new gaskets, and all new seals.

Said bottle of magic mix is only $9.99, and you can buy it for a limited time, just give me your credit card number, and I guarantee I'll be happy for a long time. & Tom will be responsible for anything that goes wrong

Hey Charlie?! Do you also sell a bottle of that "magic juice" that you can pour in a 7.3psd, and get it to 700hp with stock injectors and turbo while improving the transmission to handle the power?!!

don't need no bottle of Charlie's "Magic Juice" John.

just put a big "C" sticker in the back window. that "C" is good for 800 HP, and 922 FTLBS torque.
it will also raise fuel mileage to around 97 MPG.

I think you are all missing out! A Warm Springs Indian Reservation, Oregon product (made back East with stuff the Warm Springs have never heard of) is guaranteed to remove paint and rust, clean injectors. Just add one bottle in every tank of gas or diesel and give a tremendous boost in horsepower, cure measles, mumps, kidney and liver ailments and balance problems....Heck, it's even good for putting the "party" in the Saturday night parties!
