This month (September 2015), the North American Eagle project should be making a record try with their converted F-14 Starfighter car.

So right there in the next year or two are three cars well worth watching, and I'm personally rooting for the Ozzies - because if that thing they are building in a garage really does go well over 1,000MPH it will be the standing record for a long time.

*Although; a de-winged F-14 "A+" or "DELTA" would absolutely do the job. Twin GE-110's in AB? Yeah... That would do it.

 

Update on the British Bloodhound project:



The plan calls for runs to begin "Around Easter, 2016":

We have a lot more work to do building and checking out the Car before we can even contemplate moving operations out to South Africa for high speed running, so it is difficult to predict the exact dates we will be there. The current plan is that we will be rolling out the Car and UK testing around Easter 2016, with the intention of being on Hakskeenpan in October 2016 ...

 

Update on the BLOODHOUND car - they did some testing at an airport in the UK and live streamed the event. This is after the fact but still just like seeing it streamed at the time!
