it has been awhile but I am back to pick your brains again.
For starters I will answer the questions I had previously?
Dropped, cleaned and refurbished the fuel tank and accessories.
    New fuel line and all.
New dizzy only to find the old one off two teeth from the original installer.
Ended up adding a spacer under the carb and reset float levels.
Got the truck running good and now the transmission gave up.
That was a few months ago?
I have done the research and have all the dimensions and donor vehicles that I can snatch one from and so far I haven't because they can't tell me mileage, vehicle, or motor it was mated to?
I have the dimensions for the transmission bolt pattern, length and all and the list I have says it will work.
If it does fit I would be surprised.
All the man said is it was bolted to a V8? And has OD?
It would be great if it bolted to a 400 but I doubt it?
I can have mine rebuilt for 950$ with all the upgrades from a shop I know
I can buy a rebuilt not to far away for 650$ Built to factory specs?
Or I can find a donor for 3-400.?
I want mine fully rebuilt so I know it will bolt up ?
Was there ever a C6 with OD?
That used the big bolt pattern?
    Thanks for any advise,thoughts,opinion.

No, the C6 never had an OD.
Yes, the C6 was modified (by Ford) to have an OD and various other upgrades to the point where Ford considered it a completely new gear box identifying it as the E4OD.
Yes it did come in the 460 and no it never came on the 351M/400.
Yes, you can swap it into an older truck however you will need a stand alone Controller (Computer) because it is required to operate.

I seriously looked in to putting on in my 75, however the price tag difference between the E4OD and the C6 would take me years to recover in possible fuel savings.

    Thanks for the reply.
I thought that was the case.
I guess I will just have mine re-built.
